Kunzea in Glass Ed. 1 of 20

Kunzea in Glass Ed. 1 of 20

A$270.00

Woodcut print on Japanese Kozo paper, 45x45cm, signed and numbered on the front.

It's almost a bottlebrsh but round and cuter - the fluffy flowers of Kunzea Baxteri. Found all over Australia and with one species also native to New Zealand, they come in reds, pinks, purples, pale yellows and white. I’ve used watercolours to give print 1/20 a rich purple-pink.

These prints are created by hand and finished with painted details, making each one of a kind. I've used Japanese Kozo paper, which is thin but strong, made from the mulberry tree. There will be a maximum of twenty of these prints, so if this isn't the perfect one for you, then keep an eye out for one of its siblings.

Colour requests: If you would like to have one of these prints with a particular colour theme, I’d be happy to make you one. Please get in touch!

More about the Collection:

Woodcut printing and still life are both classical arts, and I'm bringing them together to create this series of hand made Australian wildflower prints. Think wattles, banksias and waratahs, all arranged as though they’re on your kitchen table. I use a combination of European and Japanese printmaking techniques, starting with inking a carved wooden block and hand-pressing the image onto paper. Part of a limited edition run of twenty, each print is unique, as I vary the paper, the printing process, and colour to create one of a kind.
